Giugiaro's Lamborghini Design Released after 50 years

In the early 1960s, Lamborghini was making tractors but the old Ferruccio was bent on showing up Enzo Ferrari with a sportscar of his own. A number of design houses like Pininfarina, Ghia, Vignale and Michelotti vied for the contract and submitted proposals. Among these Carrozzeria Touring won out with the 350 GT, based on the work of former Bertone stylist Franco Scaglione.

After fifty years, the original design submitted by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro has been released. Giugiaro's son Fabrizio digitized his father's sketches, milled them into a model, painted it yellow, detailed the body and put it on a set of period-correct Borrani wires.

Lamborghini to produce 20 Sesto Elemento at €2M each

When Lamborghini unveiled the Sesto Elemento Concept Car, everyone thought it would get past the show stand due to its lightweight construction but as for producing the Sesto as is seemed rather outside of the realm of possibility.

We began receiving reports that Lamborghini was preparing to put it into production, albeit severely limited. Then the successive reports suggested that the car could be strictly limited to avoid costly homologation procedures.

Reports said that Lamborghini would be launching a new two-tone Bicolore edition of the Gallardo at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. But this week's reports indicate that a Tricolore edition would also be in the works.

The second special-edition Gallardo would not be a three-tone model, but a Tricolore in the sense of the Italian flag. The country is preparing to celebrate a national milestone, its 150 years of unification which Lamborghini might celebrate with a patriotic edition featuring the red, white and green.

Lamborghini sesto elemento at the paris motor show

Lamborghini's Sesto Elemento, the carbon fiber beauty that debuted at the Paris Motor Show just two short months ago, has reportedly been given the green light by its Italian automaker. The two-seat "Sixth Element" exotic is much more than radical jet-fighter styling and a fixation with all things lightweight.
